Nutty strong espresso roast with honey and vanilla notes and low acidity. 80% Cubano Turquina Arabica and 20% El Pacífico Robusta from Guatemala make this espresso a very well-rounded taste experience
Absolutely extraordinary strong espresso blend . Nut, vanilla and honey notes give this coffee its special aroma . As befits a Cuban , there is also a slightly smoky note .
This coffee takes its name from the famous Pico Turquino , which at 1974 meters is the highest heritage in Cuba. This exceptional coffee grows on its slopes in the Sierra Maestra mountains, on the border between the two provinces of Granma and Santiago de Cuba.
The cultivation is carried out by cooperatives, which can do without artificial fertilizers here, since the soil around the Pico Turquino with itsmist-covered mountains is very rich in nutrients . A lot of value is placed on natural cultivation and the control and development of the plants is carried out with great effort. The coffee is grown in traditional manual work , as is common in countries that have opted forspecialty coffee and do not pursue the mass product . We obtain ourCubano Turquina from a friend of ours in the Netherlands , with whom we maintain personal contacts to the cooperatives. Through this relationship, we conclude contracts with the farmers in good time and ensure thebest quality by paying far above theusual market prices . Coffee is one of the most important exports for this small island nation, along with sugar and rum . It is all the more incomprehensible that the USA has imposed an embargo here, which makes it even more difficult to get such good coffee when exporting is so important to Cubans.
