Espresso Q-Bano Turquina

exclusive Latino espresso with 20% El Pacífico Robusta

Absolutely exceptional, strong espresso blend . Nut, vanilla and honey notes give this coffee its special aroma . As befits a Cuban , there is also a slightly smoky note .

This coffee takes its name from the famous Pico Turquino , which, at an altitude of 1,974 meters, is the highest heritage in Cuba. This exceptional coffee grows on its slopes in the Sierra Maestra mountains, on the border between the two provinces of Granma and Santiago de Cuba.

The cultivation is carried out by cooperatives, which can do without artificial fertilizers because the soil around the Pico Turquino with itsmist-covered mountains is very rich in nutrients . Great value is placed on natural cultivation and great effort is put into controlling and developing the plants. Coffee is grown by hand in the traditional way , as is common in countries that have opted forspecialty coffee and do not pursue mass-produced products . We get ourCubano Turquina from a Dutch coffee dealer friend with whom we maintain personal contacts with the cooperatives. Through this relationship, we conclude contracts with the farmers in a timely manner and ensure thebest quality by paying well above theusual market prices . Coffee is one of the most important export goods for this small island state, alongside sugar and rum . It is all the more incomprehensible that the USA has imposed an embargo here, which makes it even more difficult to get such good coffee when exports are so important for the Cubanos.
